We do this by funding, producing, distributing and exhibiting works in film, television and digital media. http://www.affd.org/ The Asian Film Festival of Dallas (AFFD) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to celebrating and supporting emerging and established Asian and Asian-American filmmakers. The AFFD provides multiple venues and opportunities for these projects to be showcased, including community activities and yearly film festival events. Our annual centerpiece event is more than a festival event, the AFFD offers a combination of cultural experiences that fosters diversity in the Asian and International community in the Dallas/Fort Worth market. LUNAFEST runs from October-March, in that time it is shown by more than 100 venues nationwide and is seen by over 20,000 viewers, each ticket sold raises money for Breast Cancer Fund and local nonprofit organizations. LUNAFEST films are pulled from the top festivals across the nation including Tribeca, the Los Angeles Short Film Festival, and London International Film Festival. Topics of this year’s films range from quirky animation to touching documentaries. |
